Answer: A professional investor is a natural or legal person with the experience, knowledge, and expertise necessary to make their own investment decisions and adequately assess the risks associated with these decisions. A professional investor must meet certain criteria set out in Annex II to Directive 2014/65/EU (MiFID II).

Question: What criteria do I need to meet and what steps do I need to take to be recognized as a professional investor?

Answer: First, you need to submit a request in the system to obtain the status of a professional investor. In response to this request, we need to evaluate your experience and knowledge. In the course of this assessment, at least two of the following criteria must be satisfied:

you have traded in significant volumes on relevant markets at an average frequency of no less than 10 transactions per quarter over the last four quarters;
the volume of your securities portfolio, including cash and financial instruments, exceeds 500,000 euros;
you have worked for at least one year in the finance sector, in a professional position that requires knowledge of the envisaged transactions or services.

Go to the section Member Area → Account settings → Professional investor.

Fill in the data and upload the confirming documents.

Click Confirm.

Question: What documents do I need to apply for professional investor status?

Answer: When applying for status confirmation, our brokerage firm will require you to provide documentation proving compliance with at least two of the above criteria. This might include but not limited to:

Certificates of transactions you made in relevant markets over the period of the previous four quarters.
Statements from accounts that confirm the volume of your securities portfolio.
Resumes and documents proving your working experience in the financial sector.

Answer: When requesting confirmation of status, our brokerage company will require you to provide documentation confirming compliance with at least two of the above criteria. This may include, but is not limited to:

Transaction receipts that you have made in relevant markets over the past four quarters.
Account statements confirming the volume of your securities portfolio.
Resume and documents confirming your work experience in the finance sector.
